Beyond representation: Advancing towards intersectionality
Since 2019, the FAIR SHARE Monitor has been tracking the representation of women in leadership across over 100 organisations of the social impact sector worldwide. This valuable data has not only filled an important gap regarding women’s underrepresentation in leadership roles but has also provided organisations with tangible information to advocate for structural change.
However, the current shifting political contexts and increasing attacks on diversity and social justice work have created understandable tensions in how the Monitor is being engaged with. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to embed transparency in our sector’s practices and ensure that gender equity data remains available and accessible. But we also recognise that representation data alone isn’t enough. To empower the sector to make meaningful changes towards gender equity in leadership, the data must also shed light on the structural barriers that create inequity in the first place.
On the occasion of the publication of the 7th FAIR SHARE Monitor, we aim to not only share insights into the latest edition of the Monitor but also introduce an exciting initiative we started in 2023 to develop a more intersectional approach to monitoring and better capture structural barriers that maintain inequity.
Join us for the FAIR SHARE Monitor Convening on Tuesday 13 May, from 15:00 to 16:00 CET to gain insights into our recent monitoring work and learn about the exciting direction FAIR SHARE is taking towards intersectional monitoring. Register now!
